Information in P2i needs to be accurate as the user is accountable for this information. P2i provides a complete history of changes.

Data integrity

P2i processes information in real-time. One of the most critical factors for the success of P2i is the accuracy and integrity of its data. This can be severely compromised if proper care and attention to detail is not exercised at all times. All information entered must comply with Departmental policy and is also subject to legislation such as the Right to Information Act 2009, the Information Privacy Act 2009, as well as Commonwealth and State Privacy Principles.

Confidentiality

P2i holds highly sensitive and personal information. All data must be accessed, viewed and maintained in an appropriate manner in accordance with the Child Protection Act 1999.

When using P2i, there is acknowledgement that the user:

  • understands the private and confidential nature of the data
  • only uses data that is necessary to perform their work
  • is aware that all usage of the system will be logged and audited.

Recordkeeping

The information in P2i is 'born digital' which means that it stays digital. There is no need to keep information from P2i on hard copy files.
